Weekend fun in GR!

We traveled out to Grand Rapids to spend the night with Aunt Keri! We had lots of fun catching up. Grandma and Grandpa just got in from Florida. We were also celebrating Uncle John and grandpa's birthday's.

We finally got to meet baby Hyatt and to catch up with Wendy and Garrett. Here are a few pictures from our visit with them at Keri's house.

Nolan's First Trip Iowa

Nolan and Dad headed to Iowa over the weekend. It was Nolan's first time seeing the farm and he had a blast. The deer shed their antlers over the last few weeks and we went out there on a mission to find them. We found 13 in all and had a great time. The weekend was full of hiking, fishing and riding the fourwheeler. When we got home Nolan ran right inside and told mom and Davis to get in the car....he wanted all of us to go back to Iowa. It was really special to be out there with our little guy, he's an amazing kid.

On the kitchen table with some of the sheds.

Recipe: Steak Salad

At our house we love to eat but we also love to cook try new recipes. This is a great steak salad recipe we found on The Pioneer Woman's website. Give it a try for dinner soon. You won't be disappointed. The dressing is light and refreshing!

Family Pictures...

We had family pictures taken last week and here is a sneak peak of whats to come! Davis is the happiest boy, but not on picture day. He screamed almost every time I set him down. The whole experience was not too enjoyable with a 1 year old screaming the entire time. We hope we get some good ones of Davis by himself and the four of us. We will have to wait and see! Or we might reschedule and get some more pictures taken in the spring!

Hawaii

What a vacation... We had so much fun relaxing, sleeping, reading, and having no schedule! Here are a few pictures from our trip. We went with our great friends Missy & Chris. We missed the boys but enjoyed the much needed vacation. We are looking forward to more sunny days ahead in Michigan!

The view from our lanai which was off our living room. (Honua Kai on Kaanapali Beach) We loved it and we'll definitely go back someday!

Enjoying the nice weather.

Walking on the beach.

All ready for dinner. (We tried to eat at our condo for breakfast and lunch most days. We went out for dinner every night!)

Jason & Chris golfing at Kapalua Resort, Bay Course.

The four of us ready for another dinner. (Jason & I, Missy & Chris)

Whale watching was so much fun! We were on a small boat that only held about 18 people. The whales were so close it was breathtaking.

Ziplining! It was lots of fun. And beautiful views.

This was the bridge we had to walk over at the beginning of the zipline. I was a bit nervous looking down!

Hiking around between the differnet lines.

Too Long...

Sorry we have been a bit busy around here. Busy is good!

The boys are both doing great. They were really happy to see mom and dad when we returned from a vacation to Hawaii! It was so nice to get away, relax, read, eat and sleep! We missed the boys like crazy but it was a much needed vacation! Thanks to all the grandparents and family for watching and caring for the boys while we were gone! Hawaii post and pictures to come later.

Just before we left the boys both had their well checks.

Nolan is in about the 50 percentile over all. He weighed in at 33 1/2 pounds. He is loving life to the fullest. He's a talker, worrier, unbelievable imagination, loves to pretend, the boss, sings, loves to ride his bike, loves to be outdoors, books, loves to ask questions & why, and he loves chocolate milk and cookies!
Some of his new favorite words...disaster, weird, ridiculous.

Davis is off the charts...but we aren't concerned he is proportioned well! (29 pounds) He is a busy boy keeping up with his big brother, his smile lights up a room, into everything, walking/running (walking since 10 months), loves to be outside, read books, eat, and milk!
Current words ott: hot, mama mama: mom, dada: dad, Na: Nolan, bra: brother, no: shaking his head, and the signs for more, please, and milk.

We are looking forward to spring, sunshine, and fresh air! The boys with a snowman we made! Have a great day and well we see you soon!
