Our Farm!
Here are a few pictures of our farm/CSA that we are apart of this year! We have absolutely loved it. The bushel plus of organic vegetables and herbs every week is so enjoyable. The boys have tried and like lots of new and different vegetables! They love all the pesto we have been making with the basil and garlic, eggplant parmesan, and tomato sauce to name a few! I have been canning and freeezing lots of great stuff to enjoy over the winter.
V Family Fun!!!
We were lucky enough to spend some time up north with our great friends at their cottage. The boys loved playing with Cameron and McKenna. Here are some pictures from our stay.

Our Week Vacation
We were lucky enough to go to northern MI for 8 days! Dad was able to come for most of it. Here are pictures from our fun and busy week!

Fly Fishing
We were lucky enough to have a night away from the boys with our friends Matt and Jamie at the Ox Bow in northern Michigan. It is a fly fishing club that Jason just became a member of this spring. He has been on the waiting list for 7 years. There are only 38 members so he was excited to finally get in! We canoed the river and fly fished. And yes I caught a fish on the fly rod all by myself! Jason can't wait until the boys are a little older so they can join us on the river!

The Zoo
Fun times at the Detroit zoo. We meet our friends Heather and Julius for a concert at the zoo. It was lots of fun. The boys all loved dancing to the children's music. They love to be wild boys together! We are lucky to have such great friends. Julius is going to have a baby brother in early December!

Our CSA
We joined a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) earlier this year. If you aren't familiar with them you should look for one in your area! I found ours on this web site. http://www.localharvest.org/ They all are a little different but ours is an all organic farm. We bought a full no work share for 18 weeks that we split with my brother. We can go out to the farm and pick some stuff but with two little ones it is nice to go to the famr and the produce is all picked and ready for us! We are getting tons of great fresh local produce. Actually more than we need some weeks so we are giving it to our family and friends. Just as an example we pick up on Monday and this week we got a bushel and a half of produce. (bib lettuce, red leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, onions, green onions, zucchini, broccoli, cucumber, swiss chard, collard greens, haricot vert, sugar snap peas, fennel, mustard greens, basil, and cilantro) We are making lots of fresh salads, stir fries, and sauteed vegetable. The boys love the salad and snap peas the best! We will let you know what other fun stuff we get later in the summer!
